Leeds Community Foundation is building a fairer Leeds for everyone. As the region’s leading independent funder, we unlock giving and invest in communities through grant making, collaboration and leadership.
In an uncertain world, our city faces growing social, economic and climate pressures that mean grassroots community organisations have never been more vital. However, with demand for their support soaring and funding increasingly scarce, they have also never been at greater risk.
We bring together people who want to invest in Leeds, Bradford or the wider region, working collectively to make our cities fairer and drive sustainable social change. For more than 20 years, we have helped donors invest more than £65 million to benefit communities across our city and the wider region.
We are a trusted partner to businesses, foundations and professional advisors, with years of practice delivering social value. Our expert advice and deep experience managing strategic giving programmes with life-changing outcomes means we can make giving accessible to everyone.
Our grant making is flexible and responsive, informed by our knowledge of local needs and our strong relationships with partners across the public and social sectors. Above all, we seek to enable and strengthen community organisations that are the backbone of our city, because when they thrive, so do our communities – and all of us benefit.
We run GiveBradford, the community foundation for the district, which nurtures strong relationships, connects resources, and possesses a deep understanding of communities run by Bradfordians, for Bradfordians. We put local people at the heart of our decision-making, so funds are distributed fairly to often marginalised groups that contribute to making Bradford the remarkable place it is.
We run a number of grant programmes specifically aimed at supporting young people to overcome life obstacles, to gain new experiences, life skills and opportunities and give them the best chance of success. We also involve young people from our diverse communities in our decision-making, enabling them to have their say and take key decisions on where funding is allocated.
Together, we are building a fairer Leeds and a fairer Bradford for everyone.
